Serbia Humiliated the Russian Team with 5 Goals

 

Russia had to take on Serbia in a very crucial game of UEFA Nations League on Wednesday and the match ended with an unexpected 5-0 in favor of Serbia. The Serbian team has broken their record zero wins against Russia and has made their victory a comprehensive one. On the other hand, for Russia, this result is actually humiliating and the goals are actually unanswerable for them.


Four of the goals were scored in the first half and the last one was put into the net in the second half. The Flurry of goals started from the 10 minutes of the match and ended at the 64th minute. Though Russia tried to have 20 shots towards the goal, none of them were good enough to penetrate the goal line. On the other hand, Serbia hit 12 shots towards the goal out of which 5 went in the net. Russia tried to slow down the game after they conceded two goals but the Serbians drew the match towards their way. Russia kept 57% of the ball possession while Serbia only managed to keep 43% of it. The passing accuracy also was much lower in numbers than that of Russia. But still, the Serbians managed to win the match emphatically.

Serbia and Croatia are Set to Resume the Football League

 

Corona virus pandemic has badly heated the football game. Serbia and Croatia have agreed to resume their football league which was postponed due to this pandemic officials said on Wednesday. As there is a fear of community transmission of corona virus, it is possible to start the game with certain guidelines.

Serbia and Croatia agreed to start the match behind closed doors to avoid large gatherings. However, the broadcasters are allowed to air the matches like before. Publishing a statement on the Serbian Football Federation website, it is clearly mentioned, it has been decided that the four rounds of the year 2019 and 2020 will be played.

KROOS REVEALS LIVERPOOL AND MAN UTD INTEREST

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has revealed that Liverpool tried to sign him in 2014. Back then, the German midfielder was in line to leave Bayern Munich after leading them to consecutive Bundesliga titles, and both United and Liverpool were heavily linked with a transfer. The midfielder had a year left on his contract with Bayern Munich and it was evident the World Cup winner will not renew with the Bavarian. Top clubs around Europe were interested in signing Kroos, before he eventually moved to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2014.

Manchester United, Juventus and Chelsea were all credited with an interest in the player. Kroos admitted Liverpool stars, Steven Garrard and Luiz Suarez tried to convince him to choose the Reds over other suitors. He stated that captain Steven Gerrard told him everything about Liverpool and how beautiful it is to play at Anfield.

Skomina from Slovenia Declared the Best Referee

Damir Skomina of Slovenia has been acknowledged as the best referee in football in the world this year. The recognition has been given by the International Federation that records history and statistics in football. He got selected by a team of experts from 90 nations across the world. The referee from Slovenia who is currently 43 years of age has scored 136 points during the vote. The second place was secured by Felix Brych who is from Germany. He managed to receive the same title in the year 2017. He got a score of 129 points at the vote. It is the first title for Skomina.

Damir Skomina is also the first referee from Slovenia who has carried out the official duties of the final match between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur of the UEFA Champions League held in Madrid on 1st June. He is the 19th holder of the title. It is being presented since the year 1987.

The Serbia football federation has sacked Mladen Krstajic as their national head coach after suffering a big defeat at the hands of Ukraine by 5-0. The match counted for the Euro 2020 qualifiers and this victory allowed the Ukraine national team to top group B.

MladenKrstajic was appointed just before the World Cup in Russia and has since then failed to convince the Serbia Football Federation that he is the right man for the job.  Indeed there were a few eyebrows that were raised when MladenKrstajic was appointed as the head coach of the national team despite the fact that he has not held any managerial post in his career. Serbia failed to make it out of the group stage at the Russian World Cup.

BARCELONA LOSE INTEREST IN KEY TRANSFER TARGET

Barcelona have been rumoured to be interested in Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic in the past few months as a replacement for veteran forward Luis Suarez. However, reports coming out from Spain reveals that the Catalan giants are frustrated with the fee demanded by the German side.
