BARCELONA LOSE INTEREST IN KEY TRANSFER TARGET

Barcelona have been rumoured to be interested in Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic in the past few months as a replacement for veteran forward Luis Suarez. However, reports coming out from Spain reveals that the Catalan giants are frustrated with the fee demanded by the German side.

According to the report, Barcelona officials believe that Frankfurt are taking advantage of the interest shown for the player to drive up his transfer fee. Barcelona are looking at alternatives as the Spanish giants feel that the Serbian international is not worth up to the fee being touted by Frankfurt.

It is understood that Jovic is valued at €60 million which is on the high side for a player that has only had one good season in his career. however, that is the current state of transfer in Europe as the value of players can skyrocket as a result of a surge in form.

Jovic has been exceptional in the attack as he has formed an excellent partnership with Croatian forward Ante Rebic which has seen him net 16 goals in the league this season. the 21-year-old has shown maturity in his game as his pace, attacking movement and ability to be ruthless in front of goal one of his key attributes.

Barcelona have been making big signings in the past few seasons as they plan for life after their talismanic forward Lionel Messi. This transfer spree has seen the arrival of Phillipe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie De Jong.

Jovic is the perfect replacement for Luis Suarez as he has the quality and time to develop into a world-class forward.  It is difficult to blame Frankfurt as it is not every time that the German club sees a player with the quality and transfer value of Jovic, it is understandable that they want to make as much money that they can with his transfer.
