Serbia have decided to appoint former winger Ljubinko Drulovic as acting coach for the upcoming friendly match against Ireland. This is one of the important matches for the team as they prepare for the European Championship qualifying, which will begin in September of this year.

SINISA LEAVES

Serbian national team manager Siniša Mihajlović has decided to leave his role and join Italian club Sampdoria. The 44-year-old has been in charge of the national team for the last 18 months, but he has now made the return to club football. Sampdoria recently sacked their manager and since then Mihajlović has been constantly linked with them.

Mihajlović is one of the best players for Sampdoria after having made more than 100 appearances for the club during his playing days. This return marks a fourth spell in the Italian Serie A for Mihajlović.

IVANOVIC WANTS JOSE RETURN

Even though he has not played under José Mourinho, Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic has said that he wants the special one to return to Stamford Bridge. Mourinho has been linked with a return to Chelsea for the last few months, while he has also hinted that it may be the case in the summer.

MIHAJLOVIC WANTS INTER ROLE

The Serbian national team manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has stunned everyone by admitting that he would one day like to become the manager of the Italian club Inter Milan.

The 43-year-old was only recently appointed as the manager of Serbia. Mihajlovic had a two-year spell with Inter Milan back in 2006. He retired while he was still at the club. He then went on to become the assistant of the Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini. Due to his special affiliation with the club, Mihajlovic has indicated that he would one day like to return to the San Siro as the manager of Inter Milan.

IVANOVIC APOLOGEISES

The Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic has apologised to his teammates for committing two mistakes that ultimately proved responsible for the 2-0 defeat suffered by Chelsea in the recent semi-final against Swansea.

Chelsea were in with a opportunity to make it into the final of the League cup as they were facing Swansea in a two legged semi-final. However, Ivanovic made two major mistakes in either half which were brutally punished by Swansea. As a result, the Welsh club are now the favourite to reach the final where they are likely to face Bradford City.
