Their last qualification match was played back on October 11th of 2015 as they played against Portugal and the Portuguese side came out on top with a 2-1 triumph but Serbia is also struggling to even win or show quality play from friendly games as they were held to a resounding 1-4 defeat after facing off with Czech Republic.

Nemanja Matic is one of the more recognized players of the Serbian national football team as he plays with the Premier League side Chelsea and Matic is considered to be one of the best players of the national side but his time with Serbia might be reaching it’s end as the player is not happy about the attitude that the rest of his teammates have been displaying.

“I always try to lead by example but some people don’t want to see that. The attitude of some players is unacceptable, not just on the pitch but off it too. I told our coach Radovan Curcic that there is no point in me carrying on with the national team if things don’t change. I’d really like to know whether some of my team-mates apply the same poor working ethic at their clubs as they do in the national team most of the time.” Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic said.

For the past few years, the Serbian national side has been struggling trying to qualify in the Euro’s and the have not managed to do it since 2000.
