SERBIAN JOVANOVIC WANTS TO PLAY FOR CHELSEA

Chelsea have been attracting the best players as a top club but many more prospects are increasingly declaring their intent to feature at Stamford Bridge. Serbia defender Vukasin Jovanovic is no exception.

The 20-year old player, who is currently on loan at Bordeaux, revealed that he is keen on moving to the Premier League to play for the Blues. Jovanovic whose parent club is Zenit St Petersburg said:

“I would like to play in England, against the biggest teams in the planet. I want to play in the Champions League. What club? Chelsea.”

The player is set to link up with a former Chelsea star player in Branislav Ivanovic when he moves back to his parent club at the end of the year.

Ivanovic left Stamford Bridge as he fell in the pecking order under Coach Antonio Conte. The defender enjoyed a successful spell at the club but ended his career there during the winter transfer window. The Serbia skipper decided to move to Russia to continue his professional football career.

Jovanovic heaped praises on his compatriot, saying: “With him, you can gain invaluable experience, because Ivanovic is also a great person who always strives to help young players.”

Chelsea have enjoyed a brilliant run since a tweak in their formation last year. Conte’s men saw off a tough test when they played Liverpool and Arsenal in the past weeks. The coast seems to be clear as they are at least nine points above everyone else in the league. Their competition are already giving up on the title chase but now solely chasing maintaining their status.
