NO ROOM FOR SLIP-UP AGAINST SERBIA – DAVIES

If Wales plan on keeping their World Cup dream alive, then they should not think of slipping up against Serbia in their upcoming match next month.

This was the position of Ben Davies, Tottenham’s defender in an interview. Just recently, Wales drew, narrowly getting away with a point in their 1-1 draw against Georgia at the Cardiff City Stadium. This pushed Wales down the group table from the top to third in Group D.

Serbia are currently leading the group with Republic of Ireland following behind and Wales coming in at the rear with a 2 point margin difference.

Slavoljub Muslin has to guide Serbia through the World Cup qualifiers

The Serbian national football team failed to qualify to the 2014 FIFA World Cup as well as the 2008 and 2012 edition of the UEFA Euro’s.


It’s clear that in recent times they have been struggling to make their presence felt at the international stage and recently, a new manager was selected that can hopefully change things around for the national side.

Lazar Marković out of the Serbia team because of injury

Liverpool winger Lazar Marković has been forced to withdraw from the Serbia team following an injury. Lazar Marković has had a difficult season with Fenerbahce where he has managed only to make 20 appearances for the Turkish side.

Serbia, who has not qualified for the Euros 2016, is looking to use the summer break to prepare the team for the World Cup qualifiers. Lazar Marković was supposed to be in a training camp with its national side, but he has now been ruled out of all the future games.

Poland beats Serbia 1-0 in a friendly match

Poland has managed to beat Serbia in an international friendly match 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jakub Blaszczykowski.

The win was a statement by Poland that they are ready for the Euro 2016 and that they should be considered as a serious contender at the Euros finals.

Indeed, Poland made an impressive qualifying campaign where they beat Germany to reach the Euros finals, and the match against Serbia was a confirmation of their improvement.

DusanTadic will not play for Serbia while Curcic is in charge

Southampton’s DusanTadic is furious with the head coach of the Serbian national football team, Radovan Curcic who decided to drop him from the upcoming friendly games of Serbia as they have to play against Estonia and Russia.

DusanTadic is a regular starter for the Premier League club Southampton and the Serbian player believes that being able to consistently perform in the top tier English league should be more than enough for him to snatch a spot in the starting lineup of the Serbian national football team

Serbia’s string of defeats has taken it’s toll on the squad

The Serbian national football team failed to make it past the group stages of the 2016 Euro’s and were not able to qualify for the approaching competition. Serbia was pitted in Group I where they had to face off with: Portugal, Albania, Denmark and Armenia and out of the 8 matches that Serbia played, they only managed to 2 games which wasn’t enough for them to secure a qualification spot for the next rounds
