NO ROOM FOR SLIP-UP AGAINST SERBIA – DAVIES

If Wales plan on keeping their World Cup dream alive, then they should not think of slipping up against Serbia in their upcoming match next month.

This was the position of Ben Davies, Tottenham’s defender in an interview. Just recently, Wales drew, narrowly getting away with a point in their 1-1 draw against Georgia at the Cardiff City Stadium. This pushed Wales down the group table from the top to third in Group D.

Serbia are currently leading the group with Republic of Ireland following behind and Wales coming in at the rear with a 2 point margin difference.

Ben Davies strongly believes that their upcoming game is of extreme importance as it could make or mar their World Cup dream.

“It’s definitely a big game now,” said Davies. “It’s one we really have to get something out of. It’s a game we really need to get ourselves together for.

“We have to look back at what went wrong and rectify it. It was tough and Georgia made it difficult for us.

“Of course, we feel it but sometimes it is hard to rectify that on the field. We need to refocus on performing for 90 minutes, and not just the start of games.”

Wales had earlier opened up their World Cup campaign with a 4-0 win over Moldova and looks to bounce back from their draw with Georgia.

Hopefully, Joe Allen and Aaron Ramsey would be available to feature in the upcoming game against Serbia after being absent in the game against Georgia.

Serbia might yet just be the biggest test for Wales. Serbia had climbed to the top of the group after ending up in a 3-2 win against Austria in their last game and they would be looking to retain that top spot by winning in the game against Wales.
