MARKOVIC CHASED BY PREM CLUBS

Chelsea are currently in front of Liverpool and Tottenham when it comes to signing the £16 million rated Serbian attacking midfielder Lazar Markovic in the summer.

Lazar Markovic has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea, while the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid have also expressed their interest in the past.

The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the best players in Serbia at the moment. He plays as the attacking midfielder and is also known for scoring a lot of goals. He is currently valued at £ 16 million by his club Partizan Belgrade, who are currently managed by former Chelsea manager Avram Grant.

Chelsea have entered into the race to sign the Serbian on the advice of Avram Grant, and who is also reported to have said that the player to choose Chelsea over other clubs. Chelsea are looking to bring down the age of their squad.

They will be starting the process in the summer with the release of players like Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda, while they will also look at the possibility of signing young players. The likes of Ramires and Mata have already been a major influence in the Chelsea squad this season.
Lazar Markovic will not be the first Serbian to arrive at Stamford Bridge.

The club already boasts of the Serbian Branislav Ivanovic, who is considered as a first-team regular. The Serbian recently lifted the FA Cup with Chelsea for the third time in his career since arriving in England while the club was under the reign of Avram Grant.

Ivanovic, though, will be suspended for the Champions League final against Bayern Munich on May 19. Lazar Markovic has scored seven goals in just 31 appearances for Partizan Belgrade, while he has also won the Player of the Year award.
