CHELSEA WANT WIN

Ivanovic has said that this is a great chance to strike a psychological blow over their rivals, who are just getting into their new management under David Moyes. Under the regime of Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United were the main title opponents for Chelsea. Now, it will be very different under Moyes.

Ivanovic has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier league. He has managed to lift all the major titles with Chelsea since arriving in £ 9 million deal back in 2009. The defender has been heavily linked with a move to Paris St Germain over the last few weeks, but manager José Mourinho recently confirmed that the player is not for sale at any price. The 29-year-old defender has the capability to play at both as a centre back and right back. United have been getting the best out of Chelsea in the last few years. The West London outfit finished a massive 14 points behind United last season.

“Of course, if we win we can intimidate them. This can be psychologically a very difficult game and if we can go there and win it would be massive for us, have a huge effect on our confidence and make things feel different. But, even if we lose, we mustn’t feel we need to change a lot of things in our heads. The season is long. I agree the last two seasons at Chelsea have not been good enough,” said Ivanovic ahead of the start of the new season.
